simple pleasures . . .

- Driving up 280 to SF. Seeing the wall of fog approach. A plane flying west, above the wall. Seeing the wall moving fast to the east and slightly downward. The plane disappearing behind the top of the wall of fog.

- Watching the ocean appear as I head over the hill of the Great Highway after driving up Skyline. The waves breaking on the beach. I love that view. Coming into sight. Every time.

- Finally seeing the Bison in Golden Gate Park.

- Seeing the fog dance and scatter along the surface of San Andreas Lake. Only at the northwest end. The rest of the lake was clear. Beautiful.

Finally seeing the Bison in Golden Gate Park.

Oooh, I need to purposefully do that some time.

Speed Levitch, when asked about the 9/11 monument, thought the Bisons were so cool that maybe instead of a memorial and offices it'd be grand if NYC built a "Bison Joy Park" on the former site, which would not only give visitors an unexpected run-in with "nature" but also help acknowledge some of our national sins.
